At Hotmilk Films we are passionate about capturing the details of your project in a short film with a narrative arc and a filmmaker's eye. This is more than just talking heads and demonstrations, we’ve worked with top artists, manufacturers and researchers, putting ourselves in their shoes to bring their project to life; consistently delivering crafted masterpieces that our clients want to show again and again.

To celebrate the launch of the Platinum Series 3G speaker range and Monitor Audio’s 50th anniversary, we were asked to create a ‘making of’ style film featuring interviews with the designers mixed with beautifully shot b-roll of their working environments.  Matt spent three days with the lovely team at Monitor Audio Group and cut together a 5-minute edit along with 7 shorter social cuts.

Camera: Sony FS700 with Odyssey 7Q and Blackmagic pocket 6k

Date: Septemeber 2020

Hotmilk Films was commissioned to document the build of the new state-of-the art xR and Virtual Production Studio. Through in depth interviews, the process and benefits of the new technology provided the bases of 5 films produced over the 12 day shoot. The challenge was to document the intensity of the first few shoots that the new studio embarked upon without interfering but also maintaining the high level of cinematography desired. The outcome is a collection of films which has enabled the studio to easily explain this complex technology to prospective clients and has also become a showcase of some of our best documentation to date.

The brief was to make a short documentary to show how Machine 9, an installation by Nick Ryan, works and was made. Our director set out to summarise how the machine tracks the positions of 27,000 pieces of space junk, transforming them into sound, in real time, as they pass overhead. It was a cold two-day shoot in a barn in essex. We were delighted with the end result which has been shown worldwide and was foundational in a continued working relationship with Nick Ryan.
