The brief was to make a series of short videos that portray applied research for the CLAHRC website. The videos comprised of researchers presenting their research, testimonials, and actors demonstrating the benefits of the services. 

Digitally-enabled care for acute kidney injury

Client: NIHR ARC North Thames

Camera: Sony FS700 with Odyssey 7Q

The brief was to present the key findings of NIHR ARC North Thames evaluation on a ground-breaking app that identifies patients who are at risk of acute kidney injury. Our Director spent two half-days on location interviewing key participants as well as actual nursing staff at the Royal Free Hospital using the app. A particular challenge was the short time we had with the nurse and patient; we had 45 minutes to bring out the story.

The Young Commissioners model webinar trailer

Client: East London University

The brief was to advertise a webinar that sought to explore the benefits and process of the young commissioners model within healthcare. Our Director spent 1 day on location in Dudley interviewing key participants and staff. Using video in this context is perfect – it allowed us to capture the immediate reactions and feelings of the participants, it would be almost impossible to capture that detail and intimacy in static imagery or a report.

Building Bridges: Involving carers in hospital treatment of mental illness

Client: NIHR ARC North Thames

The brief was create a trailer for new training to involve carers in the hospital admission process for mental illness patients. We used actors and interviews to showcase the service at Queen Mary University Hospital.

The brief was to film an informative video notifying care-giving bodies of a new leaflet specifically targeted at black African and Caribbean elders who, as research suggests, are more prone to dismiss the warning signs of dementia and keep these to themselves. We used actors and interviews to bring the challenge to life, so making the solution more engaging and widespread.

Welfare advisors in primary care

The brief was to showcase the research to support social welfare advisors in primary care. Dr Charlotte Woodhead was able to detail the challenge, method and main findings of her research alongside illustrative scenarios to bring the research to life.
